Thank you Tim & Suze from The Western Most Omastry for organising The Healers Market each month, and inviting The Harmonic Project to perform.
It was a cosmic day at the Singing Gallery and we had a wonderful show. I was joined by two special guest musicians Michael Farrell playing his beautiful Soul Orb Drums and Stuart Haines playing his haunting Irish flute and didgeridoo, wow what a pleasure it was to make weird and wonderful harmonic sounds with those two!
Reverb Nation is one of the world's biggest music network sites, and I'm humbled to say that at the moment I'm #8 in the Australia's top 10 Folk artists! Wow, nearly fell of my chair! Haha!
Reverb Nation offer these great little music players which anyone can add to their website or blog to help promote people's music. So if ya feel inclined to add a Heather Frahn Music player to your page I'd appreciate it greatly! Visit this link for the details http://www.heatherfrahn.com/promote-heather.htm
Since January myself and fellow musician from The Percussion House Marie-Therese have been working on the musical elements to the parade.
The Adelaide Fringe Parade is the largest event in the Fringe and one of the biggest street events in Australia drawing tens of thousands of people to the opening night.
The Parade was attended by 80,000 people on Friday 19th of February, which saw our creations out there for everyone to see and hear! We worked with the Design & Construction team, creating a flamboyant soundscape of crazy ‘found object instruments' - and worked with various community groups to facilitate the floats in a rhythmical, melodic or simply random fashion.
Adding yet another string to Heather's bow is website design! And she recently finished designing a brand new site for an amazing young visual artist Kim Buck.
Kim creates completely realist drawings with charcoal on paper and
demonstrates her interest in what it is to be human in a world that constantly tests our stability.
Kim's recent exhibition, Conatus, at Peter Walker Fine Art, sold out prior to opening. The 13 drawings in the show were bought by a range of high profile local and interstate institutions and private collectors, including Artbank. The exhibition received rave reviews and coverage in a number of publications.
Kim is currently working towards a solo exhibition at Michael Reid Gallery in Sydney in 2010. Visit Kim's new website here!

The show featured a star line up of performers including Eileen Darley, Heather Frahn, Rosalind Aylmore, Peter Douglas and Lou Bennett. The show was produced by Emma Webb, directed by Katherine Fitzgerald with beautiful poetry performed by actor Stephen Sheehan.

The audience was taken on a journey and you could've heard a pin drop as the full band with of SA's finest musicians and glorious harmony backing from the Born On Monday choir captured the hearts of many! From Brecht to Guys and Dolls, Nick Cave to Kate Bush, Joni Mitchell to John Lennon, Rockin' The Boat went on a musical voyage with the docksiders, seafarers, working girls, dreamers and rebels of the Port.

HEATHER TEACHES SONGWRITERS RETREAT IN THE RED CENTRE!
Ross River Homestead Songwriters Retreat
The second Music NT/APRA Songwriters Retreat was held October 23-25 at Ross River Homestead near Alice Springs and was facilitated by singer-songwriter Heather Frahn. It proved another great success for all involved!!
Twelve Alice-region musicians attended with 15 songs written and recorded over the three-day Retreat. Coordinated by Music NT's Rory Davis, he said it was "excellent in fostering the skills and intent for artists to produce high-quality material". The picturesque and tranquil environment was devoid of the usual distractions, and as a result, perfect for musicians to do what they do best: write songs. Without such opportunities, Rory adds "the music industry would be without its core product". Alice-based artist Rhubee Neale proclaimed the Retreat "AWESOME!!" and "inspiring". Media interest was keen pre- and post-Retreat, with Rhubee and Rory both appearing on ABC Local Radio NT, to talk about their experiences. Funding is being sought for further Retreats next year.
Congratulations to everyone involved and look out for future performances of songs written at Ross River!
