2014 is here!

Wow, what a year it was in 2013! I had some of the most amazing and memorable times in my music career last year, actually, since the launch of my latest album “Be The Change” in September 2012, it’s been an incredible journey of events.

A little wrap up for 2013… playing WOMADelaide with Heather Frahn & The Monlight Tide was a dream come true, what else can I say, other than it was a lifetime achievement and true honour to play at this prestigious music festival in front of thousands of people. the band sold 80 copies of “Be The Change“, and my other group that does music for mediation and yoga “Harmonic Project” sold 20 CDs at the festival. We did a lovely harmonic music workshop at the festival too which was terrific. There are some cool photos of our show at WOMADelaide 2013, click here to see them

Following this terrific festival show, I went on to support Jon Anderson (from the band “Yes”) at one of my favourite venues The Governor Hindmarsh Hotel. I was playing solo at this show, and the crowd there were so lovely, to my surprise, I received a standing ovation as the support act! Gosh! That was a real moment to remember… lots of folks came and said hi to me after the gig, and also the man himself Jon, gave me the thumbs up on stage. Nice!

In May, I produced a festival called “Daybreak Music Fest” and performed with some of SA’s best live bands in the roots/folk/pop acts… Along with Heather Frahn & The Moonlight Tide, there was The Germein Sisters, Monkey Puzzle Tree, and The Timbers. Wow, what a great day it was, and also, we were joined by the lovely folks from the Sea Shepherd, who do an incredible job at raising awareness about the protection of whales. Thanks guys!

I was so honoured to be one of the guest speakers and workshop facilitators in the “Homebrew Project”, which took place in Goolwa SA working with local original musicians and songwriters. Together a great team of people created new works, and performed them in a series of live gigs which were recorded. Then these recordings were made into a compilation cd and launched with one big concert! A fantastic project that brought lots of smiles and good times for all.

During the year in 2013, my group Harmonic Project, as mentioned earlier in this post, did a number of special events including sound meditation workshops, relaxation sound baths, and our very own sound and meditation retreat in collaboration with the Lokananda Retreat Centre in Point Pass SA. This was incredible, having 3 whole days and nights to indulge in sound, meditation, mantra and relaxation. For more information about Harmonic Project visit www.harmonicproject.com

I had a big year with my sound therapy study, I finished my Therapeutic Sound in the Community Diploma with the British Academy of Sound Therapy in August, it was so great to finish and pass with merit! I’m now well into my next Diploma course being Practitioner of Sound Therapy Diploma, again with the British Academy. I’ll keep you posted through out the year on how that all goes ๐Ÿ™‚

At the end of 2013 I was honoured to work with photographer Andrew Correll who created my latest publicity photos! Thanks Andrew!!! Andrew is an official photographer for the Sea Shepherd, doing an incredible job protecting the precious creatures of the sea. See some of Andrew’s beautiful photos here

It was such a wonderful year, and I feel truly grateful, humbled, honoured and privileged to be able to share music and song in this world that is inspired by peace, mindfulness, wisdom, and positive social change. Thank you dearly to all who have supported me on this journey…
